Amazons, Queens, and Baroque Heroines: The Jupiter Ensemble’s program paints a musical portrait of the warrior woman through a rare operatic repertoire, ranging from Provenzale to Vivaldi, via Cavalli, Destouches, and Pallavicino.
Lutenist Thomas Dunford, whose solo recital thrilled Festival audiences in 2025, returns this time at the helm of his ensemble alongside mezzo-soprano Lea Desandre.
A theatrical and exuberant concert that combines instrumental virtuosity and dramatic intensity with the characteristic elegance of the Jupiter Ensemble.
“The Jupiter Ensemble […] is already a major force in the world of early and Baroque music, and will undoubtedly become even more so in the years to come.” – Bachtrack
