Luka Coetzee, cello

From Bach to Penderecki

Winner of numerous international prizes, Luka Coetzee is one of the most talked-about artists of a new generation of cellists. The professional press describes her playing as “sublime, with a sense of interpretation [and] phenomenal musicality [that] should not be missed under any circumstances” (Fanfare Magazine).

Luka has received numerous awards and performs as a chamber musician and soloist. Her critically acclaimed recording of Beethoven’s Cello Sonata in A major for Naxos reached number one on Apple Music’s classical video chart in over 40 countries.

Canadian Luka Coetzee now lives in Weimar, Germany.
